Handmade Garden Greeting Cards
Interested in buying a great gift this Christmas? Check out these beautiful amate paper fruit and vegetable greeting cards. Here’s a description of the greeting cards from the website where they are sold:
Amate paper is made in the mountains of the Mexican state of Puebla from the bark of a kind of fig tree. To make the paper the bark is first boiled and softened with a small volcanic stone. Then, the pulp is spread out onto wooden tablets and set in the sun to dry. The process takes several days to complete a single sheet of amate paper. The images on these cards are serigraph prints based on original linocuts.
